Our Story So Far...

Welcome to the timeline! This illustration aims to provide a chronological overview of the IC history of our server by showing some details of the larger events. Due to space limitation, we've had to be rather selective with what to show in this timeline, and the time markers are, for the sake of convinience, RL-time based.

Crasite Falls
Crasite Falls

An Unlikely Rescue
An Unlikely Rescue

The traders of Zault appeared on Aeternia, and the Mad King attacked those that showed up to speak with them. The fight ended in death on both sides, including the “Mad King” who was executed after performing a “Mercy killing” on Mary Stringwall.

Those still on Aeternia fled the Island as the Navy fleet from Ker’Nadia closed in on the Island. Many chose to head towards the island of Xendaris to start a new life for themselves.

The new Islanders of Xendaris were greeted with a grand feast arranged by the Traders after weeks of work settling the Island. The Islanders had typically split into 4 groups. The Guardians of the lost, The Free Sanguine Union, Auxilliante Deo, and The New Jericko Trading Company.

The Island was host to a strange, nameless individual part of a group called. “The Acolyte’s of Kha’al. Claiming that the group's purpose was to investigate and learn from the Obelisk. The Settlers helped him get to the top of the largest snowy mountain, so that he could investigate the Obelisk. As he attempted to learn from the large floating monolith, A giga was suddenly there with the settlers, and panic took over. All those on the island fled the creature, and all managed to escape the gigas jaws.

The Volcano Awakens
The Volcano Awakens

A rumbling sound would echo out from the Volcano, increasing in volume as the ground began to tremor. Once the rumbling sound had reached it’s peak, a loud “Booming” noise would echo out from the large mountain, almost as if the entire formation was splitting in half. Should anyone be floating above the volcano they would see a large crack split straight down the middle of the popular metal farming location.

As the rumbling continued the gap would seep to get larger. A dull red light, and a hissing sound would radiate out from the crack. A loud bang would echo out, as the pressure from the now active volcano bubbled up towards the surface, and fought against the rock above. The Blue Obelisk would suddenly emit a radiating blast of light. Both the Red and the Green obelisk would follow suit casting the Island in a strange mixture of colour.

Finally the pressure building in the volcano would become to much for the rock to sustain and with one loud radiating boom, loud enough to shatter glass, the Volcano would erupt sending large boulders and chunks of rock flying. The lava itself remained rather contained on the actual Volcano, the rocks on the other hand would hurdle back down to the ground, causing widespread damage around the vicinity of the volcano.

The top of the volcano, once a place of mining, had become a boiling turmoil of molten lava, the passive mountain now active and threatening any who dared to climb to it’s summit.

Tensions Increase
Tensions Increase

Tension increases among the people of the Island as borders are drawn. Those inhabiting the Northern half of the Land begin to rally together, many angered by the southerners attitudes and actions. Using a diversion tactic they manage to distract the islanders at the Tower of Zault, and sieze this opportunity to interact with the obelisks, ultimately resulting in the disappearance of Magic on the land of Xendaris. The Game
The Game

In a twisted selection of events spreading months, a mysterious man plays a violent game with the Islanders, kidnapping their loved ones, and giving them riddles they must solve to find them before the time is late. The first Victim, Anna Stringwall was kidnapped and courted around the Island leaving behind clues and terrifying evidence of her presence. Anna Ultimately survived the occurrence and was shipped off to Ker’ Nadia.

The Second and Third Victims, Kricket and Lovelace were taken from their homes, tortured, and trapped within a box underwater. A time trial was given, but in a surprise turn of events Cole Emory was held at gunpoint by Adak, believing the Tavern Keep to be the culprit behind the attacks. Emory admitted his guilt and took responsibility for the crimes, but was ultimately allowed to escape by Imgor so that he could finish his game. Lovelace fell into a Coma, while Kricket was drowned before help could arrive.

The Final victims Nina and Dove were taken, their torture broadcasted over the radio. Cole Emory gave clues to his hideout and the Island sprang into actions, they managed to find his underwater base, though not soon enough to prevent both of Nina’s feet from being removed. After striking down Cole Emory, the group of Islanders proceeded to torture the man for hours, before killing him, assuring this would be the last round of his game.

The Acolytes Return
Crasite Falls

The land had been quiet for some time, many choosing to leave in search of an Island with more comforts, and more importantly, an Island with the gift of magic present. Nothing has been heard of the Acolyte in some time, and the violence of the island has dimmed greatly. The FSU has collapsed, and the leaders of Jericko (Along with many of their people) have left the Island to return to their home on Rakis. This peace lasted only for a short time, as the Traders of Zault came under attack by a mercenary group attacking a shipment carrying goods to Xendaris, including an incredibly valuable traders ledger. Despite the Islanders successful attempt to retrieve the ledger from the shipwreck, the mercenary group ambushed the party at the Tower of Zault, resulting in the shooting of Trader Sara, and their successful stealing of the Ledger.

The Islanders gathered together, and assaulted a stronghold of the Mercenary band in order to retrieve the ledger, and Trader Sara that had been kidnapped some time before. The group moved quickly through the fortified stronghold, killing anyone that stood in there way before managing to capture the leader of the Mercenary band, find the ledger, and save Trader Sara. The Mercenary leader claimed that the Acolytes had returned to the Island, and he was brought to the Guardians prison where he faced interrogation. Eventually the Mercenary captain gave in, and arranged a meeting with the Acolyte to accept payment.

The Return Of Magic
The Return Of Magic

The islanders met with the Acolytes, and found out that the two of them had arrived to return magic to them, seeing little other options, the group allowed the Acolytes to do their work. Both the Blue, and the Red obelisk returned there magic to the people, but the Acolytes had something sinister planned for the green. Using the Obelisk they created a barrier around the platform, trapping everyone but the Trader in with them. They manipulated the magic of the green obelisk, to create Peculation, by killing Trader Sara, and spilling her blood over the terminal. The young Acolyte was Captured, and tortured for information by the Guardians, the older one escaped. The changed Magic was returned to the land, and once again available for any to use.

Escaping from Xendaris
Escaping from Xendaris

The Acolytes manipulation of magic had broken the green obelisk, and in an effort to fix it, a great many beasts were summoned up to attack the group of survivors looking to save themselves. After a great battle, the Acolyte informed the Islanders that there was no way he could fix the Obelisk from that terminal, and should it fall, all would die. He spoke of some sort of secret area underground, a terminal that he could perhaps use to fix the obelisk, and save everyone.

Some weeks later the Acolyte would call out for any brave enough to remain on the Island. Though distrustful of the man, a group would go to the Volcano, and find the Acolyte standing in front of the entrance of the cave. After opening the entrance the group would venture in, strange pillars and constructs would litter the cavernous enclosure, and a great battle would take place, a large assortment of powerful and dangerous creatures assaulting the group as they made their way down into the depths of the Volcano.

At the bottom of the cavern, the heat of the volcano would be stopped by a small force-field of sorts and would give way to a cold room. It’s interior consisted of the same material as the Obelisks. The group would continue on there way, until they arrived at a strange looking terminal, streams of data floating through the air from it, and up to a floating ball of light. The group would theorize that it was some sort of central control point for the Obelisks, and a cooling chamber of sorts to prevent them from overheating. After sharing their goodbyes the Acolyte would activate the terminal, only to be assaulting by the holographic image of a strange and inhuman figure, adorned with Tek armor. It would appear to look at the survivors, and speak to them in a strange language before disappearing. The Acolyte would activate the strange terminal once more, and the room would explode with light, a humming sound echoing against the walls of the cave, the volcano itself would appear to rumble around them. The survivors would be lifted from the ground, towards the growing ball of shimmering light. That would be the last thing they see before being met with darkness.

Arrival On Selaria
Arrival On Selaria

3 months after the events of Xendaris leading up to the fall of the Green Obelisk, many explorers gather to head to a new land, filled with potential mystery and splendor. A large fleet of ships carrying the new settlers approach the land of Selaria, only to be surrounded by a strange mist. Suddenly the survivors found themselves in a raging storm on the open water, lightning flashing and thunder cracking above their head, the once calm water now a roiling turmoil of chaos. Beneath the ocean waves, large swarms of Leeds swam about, slamming into the ships that had moved on there territory. None of the ships on that day made it to the island and many of the settlers intended for Selaria never found there way to the warm sandy shores.

Those that survived began to flourish, and to many’s surprise, those that went into the Volcano on Xendaris, also appeared on the beach, though they were unaware of any time having passed. Large groups have set up all across the Island, beating back the harsh environment and creatures to make way for themselves. That is not to say conflict did not brew between the survivors. A cult leader had taken refuge in the eastern corner of the island, and after a great deal of tense meetings, was inevitably killed during his own trial after murdering two people in front of those in attendance.

The Gales Battle
The Gales Battle

A dark night would rest over the Island, the moon and stars normal welcome glow blocked by a thick layer of grey clouds. The Island itself is quiet and peaceful, a light breeze would push through the leaves of the tree’s, creating a soft rustling sound. The three obelisks would hang over the land, showering the surrounding area with there light. The fog around the southern parts of the island would remain, blocking the land from view.

The Quiet night would suddenly be interrupted by a quiet rumbling sound growing in volume and originating from somewhere within the fog. The obelisk light would slowly and gradually grow brighter in unison, a very faint humming sound could be heard should someone be close enough to one of the floating towers. All of this would be met by a large and violent gust of wind, roaring from the north of Selaria, and flowing across the landscape, knocking over trees and kidnapping birds unfortunate enough to be in the air.

The gust of air would smash against the wall of fog, though instead of blowing it away, it would almost appear as if the wall of fog would grow in depth. The gale would continue to sweep across the land and assault the wall of fog, the light of the obelisks growing ever brighter before finally the fog on the south western part of the Island would give away to the gales assault, fall back, revealing the hidden landscape. Small islands, tropical deserts, and ancient, forgotten ruins of buildings and temples dotting the landscape. The calls of the creatures that had lived within the fog would sound out across the Island in panic as their environment was suddenly, and drastically changed. Despite the gales initial triumph over the fog wall, it would appear to rally itself on the south-eastern half of the Island, the barrier of fog solidifying against the onslaught. For a few more moments the battle would rage on, neither side giving an inch, before the gale would suddenly subside, and the light of the obelisk would slowly dim, returning to it’s normal state. The only evidence of the battle having occurred, was the destruction it had left in it’s wake, and this new environment, now open to be explored and conquered by the settlers of Selaria.
